* NATFHE leaders at Soundwell College, Bristol, were meeting managers as The TES went to press after rejecting new contracts. Union leaders object to changes to the working week and a cut in their redundancy notice period.

Union leaders plan to lobby Education Secretary Gillian Shephard as she visits the college today. The college was at the centre of a bitter strike last year over redundancies and new contracts.
