New head at Newham

Denise Brown-Sackey has been named as the next principal and chief executive of Newham College

Ms Brown-Sackey, currently the deputy principal, takes over from Martin Tolhurst, who is retiring, on April 19. Welcoming the announcement, Lynne Sedgmore, executive director of the 157 Group of leading colleges, said: "Denise will be only the second black and minority ethnic principal in our capital city, following closely to the appointment of Maxine Room at Lewisham."
