News in brief: Licensed to skill

Burton College has signed the Government's Skills Pledge as part of its commitment to the professional development of its 700 staff. Garry Phillips, vice-principal, said: "This fully reflects the college's ethos, which has always been to show a sustained commitment to ensuring that all members of staff are highly trained and motivated and, therefore, able to help our students to achieve their very best."
