The artist who will make the new Peter Pan leap off the page has been named. Brian Froud, a worldwide authority on fairy folklore, is already at work on Peter Pan in Scarlet, Geraldine McCaughrean's sequel to J M Barrie's story. The book will be published by Oxford University Press in October.

Liz Cross, OUP's fiction publisher, announced Mr Froud's commission at the International Children's Book Fair in Bologna, Italy, this week. "As Geraldine McCaughrean has followed in the footsteps of J M Barrie, Brian Froud will follow in the footsteps of Arthur Rackham, and he has cited Rackham as a major creative influence," she said.
