THE appointment of Pierre-Yves Gerbeau, formerly of Disney, as chief executive of the Millennium Dome should have little impact on its educational programmes, according to Maggie Semple, the Dome's director of the learning experience.

Ms Semple said: "I do not fear thattoo many Disneyfied gadgets will be moving in."

She was speaking at the launch of the Dome's first interactive science lesson, written by children's entertainer Johnny Ball and sponsored by BAE Systems as part of a pound;3 million programme to promote engineering.
