Norman's conquest

29th June 2001 at 01:00
Thanks to the West Highland Free Press for passing on the response of the Western Isles education chairman to news that the mighty Disney Corporation had relented in its ban on the production of The Lion King by the Nicolson Institute in Stornoway.

Norman Macdonald commented: "I was extremely grumpy but now I'm quite happy. Disney's original decision was dopey but their latest offer is not to be sneezed at and dwarfs their earlier position. It was snow white what Disney did but I'm not too bashful to say 'well done Disney for not being sleepy and for agreeing not to doc a fee'."
