A flying success: teaching assistant Frazer Smith (bottom), from Ravensdale Junior School in Mickleover, Derby, skydives to help raise #163;58,000 for an overhaul of the school's kitchen.

Pupils at Thornhill Primary, London, help raise awareness of children living in institutionalised care. 1 June is often chosen as the day these children mark their birthdays; many never know their real birth date.

Newcastle Church High School pupil Rachel Tsang recently performed at the Royal Festival Hall with world-renowned pianist Lang Lang. The 10-year-old has already reached grade 6 in piano.
