"Young people" is the theme of this year's Refugee Week (June 16-22). Young citizens, refugees and asylum-seekers can get involved by organising an event in their school, college or local community.

Togs for Dogs Day on June 6 will be the main fundraising day of Hearing Dogs Week, June 2-6, organised by the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People charity as part of its 21st birthday celebrations. Schoolchildren are invited to wear non-uniform for the day for a pound;1 donation. School packs contain competitions to design the 2004 Togs for Dogs logo and a coat for hearing dog Blossom, and fun activities such as basic finger-spelling and sign language.
