ICT Advice, a programme of conferences, courses, events and termly newsletters to support the use of ICT in subject teaching, is being developed by The British Educational and Communications Technology Agency in partnership with the subject associations. Coming up in June and July are online courses in music, primary education, citizenship and geography.

"Digital generations: education for the new media" is the theme of an international conference at The Centre for the Study of Children, Youth and Media, Institute of Education, London University, 20 Bedford Way, London WC1, July 26-29.

"Learning in a digital world", a residential course at Glenalmond College, Perthshire, will take place on August 9-12. Presented by educators from the Apple Teacher Institute, it will equip teachers with basic skill sets or extend knowledge and concepts required to embed digital video into the Scottish curriculum. Nominations are invited for the Becta "ICT in Practice Awards 2005", which reward individuals and teams who demonstrate exemplary classroom practice in ICT. Closing date: July 23.

More than e30,000 in prizes can be won by schools entering projects into the various award categories of the eLearning Award scheme. Run by European Schoolnet and principal partner Young Digital Poland, the awards reward the best examples of the use of ICT in education by schools in Europe. Closing dates for entries is September 1.
