New Designers at the Business Design Centre, London N1, will showcase the work of around 4,000 graduate designers. Part I, June 29 to July 2, focuses on contemporary applied arts; ceramics and glass; fashion, textiles and accessories; jewellery and precious metalwork. Part II, July 6-9, is devoted to: illustration and animation; furniture design; graphic design and interactive media; product design; spatial design; and photography.

The Design and Technology with ICT Education Show will be held at the NEC Birmingham, November 16-18. Details on the site below (from mid-July).


Clotheshow Live at the NEC Birmingham, December 1-6, features an educational bursary scheme comprising five competitions designed to encourage young people's creativity. They include prizes up to pound;1,000 for the winners' school or college. Challenges include: Can U Cut It, which offers a Pounds 3,000 annual bursary towards further education; the Young Designer of the Year Award for ages 18+, offering pound;2,000 and a work placement at a British design house; and a handbag design competition for ages 17-18 offering Pounds 2,000 towards a foundation course.
