NQT jobless doubles

The number of new teachers in England who failed to find permanent work after finishing their initial training in 2009 has doubled in the course of the year. Fifty two per cent of the 33,350 newly-qualified teachers had not started their induction years by the end of March 2010. Last year, the figure was just 20 per cent.
