NUT takes on Dubya

GEORGE W Bush be warned. The National Union of Teachers has declared its opposition to any war on Iraq. Shortly before the United Nations met to decide its position, the NUT national executive debated the pros and cons of declaring war on Saddam Hussein. "The executive does not consider proposals to act outside the framework of international law to be consistent with the values teachers promote. We fear for the lives and safety of the people of Iraq," it said.
