Out-dated system is no solution

AT LAST the great breakthrough in teachers' lifestyles and work - the Computers for Teachers scheme. What a pity the general level of machine offered is of such a low specification that it will be incapable of serious upgrading in a very short time.

While some support from the Government is achange for the better, the manner of this gift seems more the first step in making us provide all the materials for school out of our own subsidised pockets than a sensible attempt to make us more technologically up to date.
