Out with Ofsted

16th March 2012 at 00:00

Glennis Virgo ("Mike Kent's criticism of inspectors is outstanding", Letters, 9 March) seems over-encumbered by Mike Kent's expert recognition of several inept and inappropriate strategies imposed by successive governments. He has maintained a consistently professional position when both in and out of headship. Being ex-members of the "club" doesn't invalidate perceptions. Indeed, once out of the hothouse and goldfish bowl, several views become far, far clearer.

Tim Peskett, HE leadership tutor and ex-primary head, Northampton.
