Overheard in the staffroom

2nd June 2006 at 01:00
The TES online forums are a hotbed of debate. Here is just a taste of what users are saying this week. Join the discussion at: www.tes.co.ukstaffroom Pupils phoning your home and leaving rude messages Adibou: This has just happened to me - the pupil has just left school but the head is going to talk to him.

Mad miss: Change your number. You can always report it to the police, or phone company - making abusive calls is an offence. They can track the number to find the culprit (They probably won't bother for a one-off though).

Cornwell: I'd report it to the police. They, or at least the head, should write to the parents informing them.

Mandatory: Why have pupils got your number? I'm-ex directory and won't have it any other way.

Find the lowest paid TA in the country Shorty68: I'll start the ball rolling. Level 1, pound;6.40 per hour (qualified with level 3 TA qualification).

Island_girl: pound;7.46 - I'm a part-timer with no TA or teaching qualifications. Almost finished my degree.

Clarey33: pound;8.01 per hour (qualified NNEB but classed as a TA) - part time and loving it.

Xxmoxx: Well that'll be me then...and no, you can't beat me! I work for Pounds 0... yep... nothing at all and STILL loving it.

Head bans St George'S flag Pussycat: It should be banned on grounds of taste alone. Cannot stand those stupid car flags proudly fixed on by idiots. World cup means fa to me.

bbibbler: The only way to get rid of the BNP connection to our flag is for the people of this country to claim it back. The English should be proud of their national identity, as the Scots, Welsh and Irish are.
