Considerable time was spent last week by the education committee of the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities deciding who should represent the councils on a number of what used to be called "outside bodies" but are now known as "partner organisations".

The importance of Cosla representation is classified as A and B. The Forum on Scottish Education, however, rates neither an A nor a B. Is this significant?
