Partnership sets new goals in the west

THE west of Scotland is to be targeted as part of the drive to widen access to higher education.

Nicol Stephen, Deputy Lifelong Learning Minister, this week launched the Goals - "greater opportunity for access and learning with schools" - project which involves a new prtnership of 45 secondary schools and 250 primaries, linked with all the HE institutions in the west of Scotland.

The initiative will include school visits and mentoring by former pupils, visits to campuses and a new information, advice and guidance service.
