Party ideas man

Your piece "Staff may bear training burden" (TES, August 9) describes me as "a member of Labour's front-bench education team". Alas, I cannot claim such an exalted position.

I have simply been asked by them to draft out ideas for teacher education policy, and that is what I am endeavouring to do.
