Payment for leaflet pledge

Two families are to be awarded compensation after they were promised funding for their children's nursery places in a council leaflet, which was then not available. The Local Government Ombudsman, Patricia Thomas, has recommended East Riding of Yorkshire Council pays pound;250 to one family and pound;50 to the other.
