Heather Du Quesnay, director of education for Hertfordshire, is to be chair of the National Council for Educational Technology until the end of the year when she will become president of the Society of Education Officers. She succeeds Jon Richards, chief executive of Cray Electronics.
Grampian has made the following appointments: Nicola Webster became director of education on July 1.
She was formerly deputy director and replaced Douglas Paterson, who is now chief executive of the new Aberdeen City unitary authority.
David Cockburn became assistant director (Devolved Education Management staffing) on June 30 replacing Ann Walker who took early retirement. He was previously on secondment as DEM project manager.
David Cleland, formerly head of Fulneck Boys' School, Yorkshire, has become secretary of the Society of Headmasters and Headmistresses of Independent Schools upon the retirement of Allan Dodds after 15 years in the post.
Reg Chapman, formerly principal of Oldham College, is now principal and chief executive of Blackpool and The Fylde College following the retirement of Michael McAllister after 20 years' service.
