Performance pay comes under the microscope

A TWO-YEAR study of the impact performance pay has on the teaching profession will be carried out by Exeter University's school of education, led by Professor Ted Wragg. It will look at heads' and teachers' responses to the itroduction of the scheme, how they implemented it and how they assessed pupil progress. It will include intensive case studies of 20 schools. The work is being funded by a pound;130,000 grant from the Leverhulme Trust.
