Phones for funds

29th November 2002 at 00:00
ANOTHER wheeze for school fundraising: headteachers might encourage parents pressed to buy mobile phones for their offspring as well as updating their own to check out this scheme, which pays at least pound;25 to school funds on every purchase, plus 2.5 per cent of the bills. The company, which runs the regeneration project www.mobilephones4charity, claims the products and tariffs on offer are comparable with those available on local high streets. School staff need only to make parents aware of the scheme as Phones for Funds provides all the information, equipment and services.
