Pique over people

Stephen Jones' article ("Come on all: if you're happy and diverse, clap your hands .", September 18) fails to acknowledge the benefits that working with Investors in People (IIP) has brought to thousands of educational organisations and their employees.

Swiss Cottage School in north London and Redbridge Community College in Southampton are just two organisations among many that will testify to how the IIP standard gave them a framework in which to develop good management practice and, importantly, to help people continuously to improve their skills and abilities.

IIP provides practical support for all types and sizes of educational organisation, delivering benefits to employees, employers and students.

A recent study by Cranfield University demonstrated how working with IIP leads to increased trust, cooperation and engagement between employers and their people - something most working in the education sector would certainly welcome.

Simon Jones, Chief executive, Investors in People (IIP).
