* You published my letter criticising School Achievement Awards on July 20 last year. Now a year and a month later the awards are to be scrapped (TES, August 29). It is a matter of satisfaction that such a sensible, if late, decision has been made. Maybe there will now be some real appreciation of the funding crisis facing schools.
