* In spite of England's world cup victory (TES, November 28), we are unlikely to see a surge in school rugby.

Having been mollycoddled since birth, can you imagine modern pupils surviving the physical rigours, not to mention being covered from head to toe in mud? Modern parents are also unlikely to be amused when little diddums comes home with a cauliflower ear and will probably sue.
