* You have got your sums wrong on fast track (TES, May 2).You say that the scheme has produced 226 fast-track teachers at a cost of pound;16.3 million. Unfortunately, you have taken the total expenditure of 20012 and 20023 but failed to add in any of the people recruited as a result of the 20023 funding.

Applications are still being processed for this year but our estimate is that between 320 and 400 fast-trackers will be recruited. Your figure of 226 will more likely be more than 600. There is a huge surge in recruitment!
