Policymongers pile 'em high

It had to happen. My only surprise is that it has taken three years of the Office for Standards in Education, before it landed on my desk.

Latest circular introduces a firm describing itself as the "leading supplier of policies to schools in the UK . . . all 28 policies only Pounds 40".

Policies are even available on disk or as printed masters. Policies are available on 28 topics from equal opportunities, rewards and sanctions, visitors and marking to preventing computer misuse.

Maybe it is time for a policy on the misuse of policies.
