Positive results

18th August 1995 at 01:00
The BBC is offering help to students and their families through the anxious days of exam results this week, with nerve-soothing information about what to do next, with advice about courses, clearing, re-sits and careers.

Student Choice '95 provides a free, confidential phone line for students wanting help with post-exams decisions, from course vacancies to grant information. Radio 5 Live will offer information for A-level leavers today, Monday and Tuesday, between 2-3.00pm; while Radio 1 will be running exam-results related stories all week, including how-it-felt reports from pop stars who themselves are receiving their results this week.

On BBC2, Sunday, August 20, 6.40pm, Student Choice '95 will give more advice to school leavers about making the most of their grades, with special reports on money, studying in Europe and students with special needs.

A Student Choice '95 careers video will be available in the autumn, details from BBC Education, 0181 746 1111. The free phone line is open until August 25, 10.00am-6.00pm on 0800 100900
