Premature exasperation

Beware of the news. The end of term saw a report suggesting that 30,000 teachers in Scotland had decided to stop teaching, citing the General Teaching Council for Scotland as the source.

The SNP called for an immediate investigation (but, for once, no resignations), while Teacher Support Scotland demanded recognition of the stresses and strains of the job which could make many teachers quit. Alas, they did not wait for top GTC honcho Matt MacIver to declare: "This story is completely inaccurate."
