Martina Selway's latest Rosie book, What Can I Write? (Hutchinson Pounds 8.99) gives a new twist to the perennial "What I did in the holidays" task (and the perennial child's answer - "nothing"). Pupils from Chandler's Field first school in Hampton Court, Surrey, have supplied the drawings for Rosie's labour-intensive exercise book. The author and illustrator, who is also the creator of Fred Pig and Greedyguts, visits Chandler's Field about twice a year to show the four to eight-year-olds her work in progress.
