Poets Gillian Clarke and Wendy Cope are to judge the Housman Society's national poetry competition on the theme of "Remembered Place" as part of the celebrations for the 1996 centenary of the publication of A Shropshire Lad and closes on September 30. First prize is Pounds 1,000 and Pounds 100 will go to 10 runners-up. Fee: Pounds 3 per poem. SAE to: Kate Shaw, 78 Kidderminster Road, Bromsgrove, Worcs B61 7LD.
