If recent trends for pupils to drop subjects related to science technology, engineering and maths (Stem) continue, British companies will struggle to operate and compete successfully, a government-commissioned report has concluded. The study into the demand for Stem graduates from the Warwick Institute for Employment Research said it will grow faster than that for those from all other disciplines except medicine in the next decade.
