Education and Employment Secretary David Blunkett this week backed a new scheme to offer unemployed people discounts on the buses to help them get about. The jobseekers' ticket scheme allows jobless people to travel anywhere on the Sheffield Supertram for 30p.

Mr Blunkett said: "In the fight against social exclusion we must all pull together. These may sound like empty words but I can assure you they are not."
