R S Thomas CD recording

20th October 2000 at 01:00
The poet R S Thomas died last month, aged 87. But a year ago he recorded three CDs, reading 145 poems that cover nearly 50 years of imaginative endeavour and of wrestling with language. His voice is uncompromising. Like his verse, it evokes the Welsh landscape and the mystery of his religious vocaion, and the occasional rapt silence at the heart of both.

R S Thomas Reading the Poems is available as a triple CD (pound;19.99) or triple cassette (pound;14.95) locally or from SAIN, Llandwrog, Caernarfon, Gwynedd LL54 5TG. Tel: 01286 831 111. Fax: 01286 831 497.E-mail: sain@sain.wales.com
