Radiation risk 'low'

Fears that mobile phone masts on school buildings can create dangerous levels of radiation seem to be unfounded.

The National Radiological Protection Board found that radiation levels were well below those suggestd in national and international guidelines at 17 mast locations near homes, schools and offices, but said that more research was needed.

Schools can earn thousands of pounds leasing out space for masts.
