Rare sight of a special gift

19th March 2004 at 00:00
As a great-granny of 71, I feel I must ask you to pass on my thanks to Maria Corby's Special Days column (TES, Friday magazine). I thought I knew "how teachers operate" but my goodness has she opened my eyes to the work of teachers in her sphere. Her writings both amuse, astonish and, yes, bring tears of laughter and sadness to me. How I thank the powers-that-be that teachers with her gifts exist.

My mind has truly been opened to an area of life that had completely passed me by. Thank you Maria, keep up the wonderful work you and your colleagues do.
