RE teacher is jailed for abuse

A religious studies teacher who had sex with two female pupils has been jailed for two-and-a-half years.

David Wootton, 36, of Boundary Road, Chatham, Kent who also taught citizenship, pleaded guilty in February to three counts of sexual activity with the girls while in a position of trust. He will be put on the sex offenders' register for life and barred from working with children indefinitely.
