Jean Ure's entertaining and thought-provoking series Foster Family now has six titles (Hodder Children's Books pound;3.99 each).

In Here Comes Ellen, Abi and her foster siblings Sam and Radish have to address their own prejudice when Elen, a young teenager with learning difficulties, arrives for a short-term placement.

Ure's skill and fluency enables her to raise some of the more troubling issues which young people face, without labouring any point.
