Redundancy and cuts in funding

FE Focus wrongly reported last week that ministers had admitted that staff are being made redundant as a result of cuts in funding for English for speakers of other languages.

In fact, the Government was referring to planned, rather than actual, redundancies and stressed that even these, in its opinion, would not be required. We are happy to put the record straight.
