Fools glad to see Woodhead go

THE resignation of OFSTED chief Chris Woodhead is a sad day for us all.

The fact that the teacher unions were celebrating says it all. Woodhead is a man who does not suffer fools gladly. The problem for im was that his job was to deal with fools.

True radical reformers are rare in British public life. It is depressing we have lost one of them.

Blunkett now needs to find the right kind of replacement. And fast.
