A teacher has resigned from Tonypandy community college in south Wales amid accusations of an "inappropriate relationship" with a pupil.

The teacher left a month ago and the matter has been resolved "to the satisfaction of all parties", said a spokeswoman for Rhondda Cynon Taff.

She did not identify the teacher but confirmed the school, with more than 1,000 pupils, took action after an allegation was brought to the head's notice.
