The dominant aspects of this article are the science of these processes, which might be discussed in human biology lessons, and the questions raised by extended living. At what point does a body become more patched up than original? Does it matter? What would be the effects on Britain of extending human life to more than 100? On roads? Houses? What would be the effects on the planet? Would extended living be a treat just for the rich West, as it already is? What would be the effects on employment? On culture? Would we keep people at school until 23 or 24? Sats in Year 17? What would the national curriculum look like? These are moral questions which will surface in RE, science or English, or even in a tutor group period as subjects for discussion from key stage 2 to 4.
