What is it?
This is a useful collection of 130 lesson plenaries that can be used in almost any subject to draw out what your pupils have learnt during the lesson. They work on their own or there are suggestions for developing them further.
How can it be used?
Use the PowerPoint slides themselves to show pupils what you want them to do (for example, share Post-it notes to share the key findings of the lesson) or simply use them as ideas to incorporate in your lesson planning.
The plenary producer contains everything from writing a five-line poem on what pupils have learnt to setting up a classroom version of the 1980s game show Blockbusters. Some can be developed into homework activities (for example, "Draw a timeline for all the facts we have learnt today), while others make good follow-up lessons (for example, asking pupils to write and perform a role-play based on the topic of the lesson).
Why is it successful?
You'll never run out of ways to round up a lesson and evaluate pupils' learning.
