What is it?

This is a collection of displays containing facts and information about the benefits of learning a foreign language, including statistics on employment and phrases for inspiration.

How can it be used?

These resources can be used to promote language learning in secondary schools and among post-16 pupils.

They can be printed for classroom display or used as discussion points to generate a class-wide debate. They provide useful information for pupils who are interested in learning another language or already doing so, and can be incorporated into language lessons as well as citizenship, geography or business studies.

Ask pupils what they feel the benefits of learning another language might be - get them thinking about holidays, jobs and engaging with people in the community who speak other languages.

Why is it successful?

These displays encourage and inspire pupils to broaden their horizons with another language and get them thinking about their future plans.
