Resources - Download of the week - Healthy eating display

29th January 2010 at 00:00

What is it?

A selection of printable posters for classroom display on the five food groups to remind and motivate pupils on healthy eating and drinking water.

How can it be used?

These posters can be printed in various sizes and laminated for a long-lasting classroom display. They can also serve as a starting point for a variety of lessons covering themes such as the food pyramid, the importance of a healthy diet and keeping hydrated, as well as the benefits of buying local produce.

Though targeted at younger pupils, this resource could provide an opportunity to encourage reflection on the eating habits and lifestyles of older groups, and perhaps spark some classroom debate relating to PSHE and citizenship topics.

Why is it successful?

These resources are a simple but visually effective way to highlight an important issue which is relevant to the health and well-being of pupils across the country.
