Revised budget is a real relief

15th February 2013 at 00:00

The Scottish government's decision to reduce proposed cuts to colleges' budgets is welcomed by college principals across Scotland. Colleges have #163;61 million more than expected and this will provide us with a measure of financial stability as we continue to take forward reforms over the next two years.

The government has listened to Colleges Scotland, which asked for continued investment in the sector and a reduction in the proposed cuts. Colleges are the solution to many of the social and economic challenges Scotland faces. The revised budget shows that the government recognises our value and role in transforming lives.
