Rights guide

The complex questions of intellectual property can be difficult to explain, but are a fundamental part of teaching when design and creativity meet. Think Kit has already proved a clear and popular guide to the four related but separate issues of trademarks, copyright, designs and patents. It has now been updated to include materials on the innovative FireAngel smoke alarm, showing how the young inventors' rights were protected at the same time as their product was developed. Thoughtful lesson plans enable pupils of 14+ to see how the same principles might apply to their own designs.
