Ripple of applause

Dreams and Secrets', a play for young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, took place this summer at hydrotherapy pools. With music inspired by the Sufi culture of Turkey, theatre company Oily Cart toured 50 special schools.

Balloons clustered over the water, shadow puppets played on the walls and light projections danced across the ripples and spray. Participans joined the company floating on bubble boats and enjoying gentle hand and foot massage.

Director Tim Webb says: "We are looking for new ways of stimulating, entertaining and communicating with young people who are often very difficult to reach."
