TERESA Murray criticises Chris Woodhead's view of modular A-levels (TES, May 21), as negative, ignorant and incompatible with government thinking.

But Mr Woodhead is the chief inspector so his views are based on Office for Standards in Education observation and research, and his pronouncements are the result of careful analysis undertaken with fellow professionals. And I'm the Queen of Sheba.
