Roy's the Rev

9th January 2004 at 00:00
Twice of late Roy Jobson, education supremo in Edinburgh, has had to stand in at school events for his education convener, Ewan Aitken - sometime Church of Scotland minister - who has had to stand in for other political figures.

One event involved filling in for the Health Minister, who, of course, was off sick.

It all got too complicated for one lad who introduced the director as the "Rev Roy Jobson".

Staff have naturally asked Jobson whether he is available for weddings and funerals - but only on standby.
